I think this is my favorite holiday because it requires no big fanfare, just time off to think about the good things in our life and spend time with family. We are looking forward to going "home" to Wichita Falls for a few days. There is always a lot of laughing, food and rest! Our weekend was great. We had 10 guests with us. One of them was a family that called on Saturday night for a ride. The wife had visited two weeks ago and she wanted her husband to come with her. They had a flat on Saturday night, but they still wanted to come! God spoke directly to those who were on the wrong road and needed to make a u-turn. Thank God that He allows u-turns! One backslider visiting with us prayed his way back to God. We concluded our around-the-clock prayer and fasting week with such a sweet Spirit of the Lord in our midst.
Last Wednesday night, we had a couple miracles take place. At the end of my teaching, the Lord moved into our midst with a special time of intercession. I had come to service straight from visiting one of elderly gentlemen in the hospital. He had pneumonia that had spread into his whole left lung with very high fever and a headache that would not go away. A wonderful elderly lady in our church called before service and had pulled her back. The pain was unbearable and they could not make it to church. Her husband has suffered a stroke and she has to help him get ready— lifting and maneuvering his wheelchair, so this was major. I really felt during our prayer that God was going to reach to these needs that night. When I went back to the hospital the next day, the gentleman was sitting up, eating. He had no fever and his headache was gone. In fact, he went home on Friday and was in service yesterday! He was still weak, but able to come! The lady was also in service and told me that God had helped her. The unbearable pain had been taken away. God still answers prayer! Don't ever doubt it.
We concluded our Discipleship Class on Sunday night and will resume in January. It has been a great class and we are learning more about each other in the process.
Our prison ministry was in Bryan, Texas this weekend. They had over 175 in attendance and 5 received the Holy Ghost! They will be going to Bryan once a month.
We are thankful for all of God's blessings here in Pflugerville.
I've never been disappointed in Jesus!
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
