Cameron is getting close to being able to get his driver's permit. He is on the last hour of study before we can go get that famous slip of paper that gives me the heeby-jeebies! Ever so often he sighs, yawns, moans - but he continues on because it is the American dream to be able to drive. I dreamed last night that he and Chad showed up at a place where I was. Cameron had taken our other car and come on his own without anyone over 18 with him. I was so mad, but then I had to let him drive home or we wouldn't have been able to get both cars home. It was crazy! I don't know if I am ready for this or not. This is just the beginning.
****UPDATE**** Cameron has passed the test and now has the permit. His hospital-issued birth certificate would not work and we had to go get a state-issued birth certficate. One of the benefits of living in Austin is that the records are kept here and we could drive down the street for it instead of waiting on the mail. We have to be with Cameron in the front seat until December 25th. Look out Austin!

I sure hope you didn't lead him home through any red lights or one-way streets! Otherwise, I'm sure everything will be fine!!! (At least he's studying, I don't remember doing that)
Welcome to the real world. Isn't it fun!!!
We will have plenty of stories to report together I am sure.
You said it right! "This is only the beginning"! Just think, you'll have someone to go do your errands for you. Now, that is a plus! For awhile when you tell him to go to the store he'll be HAPPY to go....then it becomes a little tiring, and then it becomes a IRRITATING because you can't get them to go do what you want them to do....on and on it goes....lol! Enjoy...and remember...we were all "teens" once, and wanted to get our license. Why does the "wheel of life" keep going around and around and around? I don't know, but I'm glad it does!
Sis Elms, that sounds like I wish this kid would start walking...Sit down! I'll be so glad when you can talk...Shhh! Oh, life's joys! :}
We still have another 3 years to go before reaching this stage of life, but time does fly, right? At least he is studying; I remember just reading through the book once.
Man, Dreamin' about the 'horror'?? You've got it BAD!! Just think, drivin' in AUSTIN! I don't even like driving there, and I LOVE driving... Scary, scary thought... Sweet dreams!
Hey, it can't be too bad. I helped teach Karla to drive (there are a few stories we still laugh about). Just hope he has a sense of direction, especially in Austin. I think I love W.F. so much because it's small and I can't get lost (at least, not very often). Best of luck Cameron (and you too Gene).
Roxann you said it i was thinking when I read Sis. Elms post. Yes I'll go,then do I have to, then now with 2 kids CAN I PLEASE GO and leave the kids home!!! Wow the circle of life. Cameron will do great. Don't forget to make sure the insurance is paid!LOL
Sharon - LOL!!! I guess I need to remember that I actually learned to drive in Dallas - maybe Austin won't be too bad.
Glad you joined in for once!!
I can't believe we all forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS CAMERON!!! Take it easy on your parents. I'm sure they're right with God, but they are aging (slowly!) and we don't want to take any chances with them!!!
Ha Ha - very funny with the aging statement.
My husband and I learned the immediate power of intercessory prayer as we were teaching our two daughters, plus two of my best friend's daughters how to drive!!! Oh, the joys that await you!!! (One tip to pass on--if the choice is to ditch the car or to kill a small animal?? KILL THE ANIMAL!!!) ;)
How'd you know I was talking about you , Bro?!! I did say slowly though! Love ya'll...for real!
