Slaves to sin

Up to a thousand children were sold into a brutal life of slave work in a labour "prison" in China, police have revealed as the shocking racket was exposed today.

The owners ran the prison-like kilns with fierce dogs and thugs who beat the children at will, state television said. One accidentally killed a child with a shovel and buried the body at night, it said.

I came across the article above today and I could not help but be touched. I had just been reading the awesome reports of the wonderful children that we know who have received the Holy Ghost at Camp Meeting and Crusader Camp— and then I read of children on the other side of the world who at this same time were being held and used as slaves to evil men.

I have always been touched by the plight of children who are used, abused, and made fun of. It doesn't take much for me to be moved to tears when it comes to innocent children. I guess that is why Crusader Camp held such a tight grip on my heart. I could never turn a little child away who was out of money or ignore when some other child was being made fun of— and these are light burdens for them to bear compared with the children in the Chinese labour prison.

Most of us cannot imagine the loneliness, hopelessness, and injuries that these children in China had to endure. Why were we so blessed to be born in America at this time in history? I don't know, but I do know that we cannot squander away this awesome life that we have been afforded. I really cannot do anything for these Chinese children other than pray, but God help us to do what we can to reach children that are being held captive and used as slaves to sin right in our own communities!

Please pray with us as we endeavor to start a children's ministry here in Pflugerville. It is something that is really burning inside me. A school bus has been donated to us (Thank You, Jesus!) and we are in the process of trying to get it inspected and to pass an emissions test. When this is prepared, we will start a bus ministry. We only have one classroom, but I believe that if we will get them— the Lord provide a way to teach them. In July, we will be hold a Backyard VBS at our home in an effort to bring the Gospel to the children in our neighborhood.

If we do not reach them, they WILL be slaves to sin.

Bro. Holley
You do not know me, but I go to Bro and Sis. King's church in Calgary.
I was one of those Sunday School kids and it had a profound effect on my life. I have just recently posted a blog about that experience. You can read it at holmessellshomes.blogspot.com. I pray that you will find hungry children and have a life changing effect on many of them. Some of them are in terrible situations and they really crave for love and stability. I believe you guys have that to give. God bless your efforts!

Sis. Holmes,

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! I did go read your testimony and am amazed! God is so good and sees each of us - even as little children. May God continue to bless you and your family. Tell the King's "Hello" for me and give her a hug! She is one of my favorites.
