What an awesome time we had tonight at our Christmas Concert— An Evening of JOY! Thanks to everyone who did such an outstanding job on ALL that you did! There was quite a mix of songs and singing styles... something for everyone. The kid's choir sang beautifully as did the Sanctuary choir. There were two trios, a duet with video, a children's fun video and jazz instrumentals! The setting was beautiful with blue lights, snowflakes rolling on the walls and ceilings, candles and such. We had a huge number of guests that church members invited, invited and invited! :) Karla and I had Mark and Nikki Chang of Hunan's as our guests (it was his first time to ever come!) Cameron had a friend from Rider and there were two others from Rider that came as well. A youth minister from another local church was there and let us know that he could not believe the talent and Spirit that he felt. He wants to come be with us on Sunday nights some since they do not have service! We also had many who once attended Life Tabernacle. It was good to see them. The Spirit of the Lord moved in such a special way at the end and we heard numerous accounts of guests being touched deeply.
We followed it up with a reception of cookies, cake, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee and PRIZES! It was a lot of fun!! Many of our guests stayed for a long while visiting. It was a tremendous success. It turned out COLD tonight! When we came to the church around 5pm, the temperature had reached 80°. Somewhere around 5:30pm it was in the 30's! That was great for our hot drinks and snowflake decorations.
(The above picture is the only one we have from the evening! I snapped it during choir warmup and then my wife's purse was safely put away during the concert (because she is in the choir) with the camera tucked inside.) If anyone has some other pictures, we would love to have them.
We had much more happen this weekend, but we will have to blog about it in the coming days.
